   How did our forebears design stadiums without electricity, and what can we learn from that? Natural room acoustics and environs are key before the audio, lighting and video systems kick in, so how can we leverage that today? This seminar will be a two millennia whirlwind tour applied to contemporary participatory assembly spaces from 20,000 to 300,000 seats; it will focus on what our pre-electrical predecessors knew about intimacy and connectedness in assembly environments, and what that means today in creating a sustainable balance of the natural "body language" context integrated with modern bells and whistles. Hmmm… an assembly space architect who understands acoustics?!
